The warrior woman

Digangana Suryavanshi, who rose to fame with Bigg Boss 9, will soon be seen opposite Arjun Rampal in the film, The Battle of Bhima Koregaon. Digangana will be playing a strong-headed woman from the 1800s, who is Arjun Rampal’s love interest.

When asked what made her sign up for the film, she said, “When I first heard the script, it took me back to an era that none of us have witnessed. The film also brings to light all the issues in society that still exist in today’s time. I’m paired opposite Arjun sir and I think you could call my character a warrior.”

She added, “Back in the day women taking their own decisions or even stepping out of their house was a big deal! Making decisions was not even expected out of women! That was never a part of the culture. They were just expected to do household work, and stay at home. So my character in the film is someone who did step out of her comfort zone and stood up for society.”
