Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Sector 10, Panchkula, is organising a classical vocal concert on March 1 in the auditorium of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Sector 26. Recipient of Padma Shri, Pt Ulhas Kashalkar will be performing for music lovers.

Arvind Sharma, director, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and famous classical vocalist, says, “Aayi Basant Bahar welcomes the early arrival of spring through classical music. From time to time, the college keeps inviting famous singers and will retain this series as well in the coming years.”

Pt Ulhas Kashalkar is trained under his father, musician ND Kashalkar. He even took lessons from Guru Pt Rajabhau Kogje and Prof Prabhakar Rao Khardenvi. He then studied principally under Ram Marathe and Gajananrao Joshi and is considered a representative of all three Gharanas—Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra.
