Three succumbed to Covid and 102 persons tested positive today.

Today, 11 patients were on ventilator support of which two patients belong to Ludhiana district and nine to other districts.

Those who lost their lives include a 85-year-old man from Kundanpuri. He was admitted to the DMCH and was also a patient of hypertension and bronchial asthma. A 73-year-old man from Shimlapuri, who was admitted to Fortis Hospital, and a 57-year-old man, who was also a patient of hypertension and admitted to Pancham Hospital, were the other persons who lost their lives today.

The total number of positive patients from Ludhiana has reached 22,242. There are 835 active patients and 886 have lost their lives to the virus so far.

Civil Surgeon Rajesh Bagga said whenever the district administration or the Health Department, Ludhiana, finds out about any positive or suspected Covid-19 person, their samples were sent for testing.

Reports of 1,907 samples are awaited and their results are expected shortly. He appealed to residents to follow all directions of the state government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only

stay safe themselves but would also contribute to keeping everyone around safe. Today, 148 persons were sent for home quarantine, he said.
