The state award winning NGO, Social Welfare Organisation, organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the grain market here today, during which 12 blood banks of Ludhiana and Malerkotla districts collected blood.

Around 1,433 units of blood were collected during the camp held in memory of a founder member of the organisation Sudhir Kumar. Chairman of the Shreyans Industries Limited Rajnish Oswal inaugurated the camp and Amargarh MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra was the chief guest.

Appreciating the role played by the organisation in the service of humanity by holding blood donation camps regularly, Oswal and Gajjanmajra said that blood donation was the noblest cause as no laboratory in the world could produce human blood till date.

Guga Mari Committee chief Jatinder Sharma Happy, president of the Municipal Council Vikas Krishan Sharma, former president of the MC Ravinder Puri and Hanuman Singla felicitated the blood donors.
