Ludhiana: The Division Number 6 police have registered a case under Section 108 of the BNS against Aryan and his unidentified companions on the basis of a complaint lodged by the father of a 18-year-old boy, who died by suicide. According to the victim’s father, his son took the extreme step by hanging himself from the ceiling. He alleged that Aryan and his companions had badly thrashed the boy, who could not bear the humiliation and died by suicide. The suspects are absconding.. TNS

Man booked for raping minor
Ludhiana : The Meharban police have registered a case against Altaf Sheikh, a resident of Model Colony, Meharban, under Sections 376 and 506 of the IPC and POCSO Act for allegedly raping a minor girl. The complainant, the mother of the girl, said her daughter was not keeping well for the past some time. She took the girl to a doctor, who told her that she was 4-5 month pregnant. When asked, the girl said Altaf, who was staying in the same area, had raped her for several times, following which she got pregnant. The accused is absconding. TNS

Two girls go missing
Ludhiana : A 20-year-old mentally challenged girl went missing on July 22. Her father, a resident of Tilak Nagar, Rahon Road, said the girl left home without telling anyone and did not return. The parents searched for her but to no avail. They have registered a complaint with the Tibba police that the victim was abducted by someone as she was mentally challenged. In another incident, a 14-year-old girl went missing from Varinder Nagar in Bhora village. Her mother has lodged a complaint with the Salem Tabri police. She stated that on July 29, the girl had gone to a shop but did not return home. She said someone might have abducted her on the pretext of getting married. TNS
