The Ludhiana police arrested two youths, Karan Kalra and Gurmeet Singh, for possessing 260 gm of heroin. The arrest was made by the crime branch team based on a tip-off. The suspects were stopped while travelling in an Innova car near Global Hospital on Ferozepur Road on January 28.

According to ADCP Amandeep Singh Brar, the police team was on patrol when they spotted the suspects in the car. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered 260 gm of heroin.

The accused were booked under the NDPS Act and are currently on a four-day police remand for further investigation. The police are now investigating how the accused acquired the heroin and their intended destination for distribution. Authorities are also probing whether the accused have used money earned from drug trafficking to invest in properties.
