The first case was registered against Preeti, a resident of Ramandeep Colony, Mundian Kalan. Her mother Krishna, who was a safai sewak at the MC, died and on compassionate grounds, Preeti was eligible to get her mother’s job. She applied for the job but she attached fake documents which was highlighted during the verification of her file. On being asked about the authenticity of the documents the applicant failed to give a satisfactory response, following which officials of the MC urged the Police Commissioner to take necessary action against the applicant. Acting on the complaint, police officials registered a case against Preeti yesterday.

In another case, the accused was identified as Vicky, a resident of Mata Karan Road Colony. Vicky’s father Rishi Pal was an employee of the MC and after his death Vicky applied for his father’s job on compassionate grounds. However, during the verification process it was found that his documents were fake. Accordingly, the

department urged the police to register a complaint. Yesterday, a case was registered against the accused.

Investigating officer in both the cases, ASI Dharamvir, said cases had been registered under Section 420 (cheating) of the IPC against both the accused and further investigation was underway.
