Two NRI youths were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a tree after hitting a motorcycle near Sarabha village on the Jodhan Pakhowal road late Thursday evening.

The deceased were identified as Ravi Sher Gill of Latala village and Nobandeep Singh of Brahampur village in Ludhiana district.

Motorcycle riders Jobanpreet of Kalsian village and Jaskaran of Rattowal village were also injured seriously while the third rider sustained minor injuries.

The car carrying the deceased was completely damaged after colliding with a tree that pierced its front portion.

All victims were shifted to a multi-specialty hospital at Ludhiana where Ravi Sher Gill and Nobandeep Singh succumbed to their injuries  around midnight.

As Ravi’s father and other members of the family are in Canada at present, the police are yet to record statements of the family.

Sources at Latala and Brahampur villages revealed that both Ravi and Nobandeep had returned from Canada only a couple of days ago and were going to Sudhar when the car they were travelling in met with the accident.

SHO Jodhan Saheb Meet Singh said the police had initiated a probe into the sequence of events leading to mishap and further action would be taken according to the statements submitted by victims’ families.
