Amritpal Singh and an international student, Phyo Thiri Aung, from Myanmar, both master’s students of Department of Food Science and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), participated in the 4th Kuwait International Conference in Life Science, held at the University Conference Centre, Sabah Al-Salem University City, Kuwait, recently.

Both delivered oral presentations showcasing their research on value addition and processing technologies.

Amritpal presented his work on ‘Steam blanching effect on physicochemical properties, phytochemical content and colour retention of red okra (Punjab Lalima variety) crisps”.

Phyo presented her study titled ‘Valorisation of red and white dragon fruit peel powder for development of functional dairy products’ under the guidance of Dr Poonam Aggarwal Sachdev, Principal Food Technologist, Department of Food Science and Technology.

Their work received appreciation from international scientists and delegates for its scientific merit and practical relevance.
