Cracking the whip on violators encroaching upon the government land,

the Municipal Corporation (MC) removed around 20 encroachments (shanties) from government land in Transport Nagar here on Wednesday.

Tehbazaari inspector Sunil Kumar said the action against encroachments has been taken on the directions of civic body Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal and Zonal Commissioner (Zone A&B) Neeraj Jain.

The civic body had recently received a complaint against the encroachments on government land. In the complaint, it was also stated that the encroachments were becoming hindrance in movement and parking of vehicles in the Transport Nagar area.

The tehbazaari inspector said the drive against encroachments would continue in coming days.
