The Sidhwan Bet police have registered a case against three persons on the charges of illegal sand mining from the Sutlej. The police had also seized four tractor-trailers. They were identified as Surjit Singh, Rana Singh and Sukhchain Singh.

Police officials said they got a tip-off that the suspects were loading illegally mined sand in their tractor-trailers. The police team conducted a raid and seized the four vehicles, including two loaded with sand. The suspects managed to give the slip to the police.
