In an effort to resolve the issue of waterlogging in Dhokka Mohalla, Dharampura, and adjoining areas, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar launched three new 170hp motors to pump out water. MLA Prashar was accompanied by Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, ward in-charge Ajay Nayyar Tanki, and local residents/volunteers. MLA Ashok Prashar stated that previously, there was only one 130hp motor installed at the pumping station near Gaughat cremation ground, which caused rainwater to recede slowly from these areas. The installation of three new 170hp motors will expedite the drainage process. With these new motors, Dhokka Mohalla, Gaushala Road, Ranjit Park, Dharampura, Shivaji Nagar, and surrounding areas will benefit. MLA Prashar emphasised that they are regularly monitoring the situation and making every effort to prevent waterlogging, especially in the low-lying areas of the city.
