In a major crackdown against trouble makers, Ludhiana Police, led by Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma launched a drive to combat the menace of eve teasing near educational and recreational places.

Around 21 police parties, led by gazetted officers of the Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana, (including three DCPs) were deputed at various checkpoints spread across the area of Police Commissionerate. Intensive checking to combat eve teasing at these places led to a total of 436 challans and impounding of 9 vehicles.

The checkpoints were established near the schools, colleges and recreational places. The Commissioner of Police has laid emphasis on intensifying the checking further in the coming days.
