The Ludhiana police yesterday arrested the fourth accused in the murderous attack on a shoe trader at Khud Mohalla. The arrested accused was identified as Gurkirat Singh, a resident of Mohalla Rarhi here.

In a statement issued, ACP (Central) Anil Bhanot said that after the murderous attack on Gurvinder Singh on November 8, the police had arrested the two accused, Rishab Benipal and Sushil Kumar, on November 9 and then on November 10, third accused Akash Kumar was also arrested.

The ACP added that on November 19 after the police party received a tip-off about the whereabouts of the fourth accused, Gurkirat, a police party conducted a raid and nabbed the accused. The police also recovered a .32-bore pistol, two cartridges and an Activa scooter from the accused.

He further said that now raids were already on to nab the remaining accused who are still at large.
