Thecomplainant, Mohammed Nasir, a resident of Tubewell Colony, Malerkotla, told police that on October 28, a complaint was filed with the police to seek action against the above said accused who in collusion prepared fake registries of his land with a clear motive to usurp it and keep it in their illegal possession.

The complainant said that earlier also, cases were registered against Jaskaranjit Singh by the Ludhiana police. He demanded that the police should arrest the accused immediately so that justice could be served.

The complainant alleged that initially, an inquiry was conducted by an officer of Ludhiana police on his complaint who gave the view that the matter was of a civil nature and directed the parties to find remedies in the court, holding that no action was required by the local police in this matter. Later, a complaint was lodged before the DGP, Punjab, and a fresh inquiry was conducted and a case has now been registered against the accused.
