As many as 600 skaters (boys and girls) from across the state are taking part in the 36th Punjab State Roller Skating Championship, being organised by the Ludhiana District Skating Association under the aegis of the Punjab Roller Skating Association (PRSA) at the Leisure Valley skating rink here on Saturday. The championship will culminate on Sunday.

Sukhchain Kaur Bassi, wife of Gurpreet Singh Gogi, MLA from the Ludhiana West constituency, and Satish Jindal of Jindal Estates, inaugurated the championship. Manpreet Singh Chhattwal, president, PRSA, welcomed the guests and participants.

Simranjeet Singh Saggu, general secretary, PRSA, thanked dignitaries and wished good luck to the skaters. He said the Punjab skating team for the forthcoming National Roller Skating Championship to be held in December at Mysore in Karnataka would be finalised on the basis of participants’ performance during the competition.
