The Ludhiana police on Friday registered cases against seven colonisers on the charges of developing illegal colonies in Sahnewal. Cases were registered at the Sahnewal police station under the PAPRA Act against the suspects on the complaint of the competent authority-cum-ADC, Urban Development, Ludhiana.

The first case was registered against Krishan Pal Singh, a resident of Sahnewal, for developing an illegal colony in the name of Pal Colony in Sahnewal. Another case was registered against coloniser Shankar Kumar of Sahnewal for developing Vanya Enclave.

A case was also registered against Sukhdev Singh, Balraj Singh and Kirpal Singh of Sahnewal for developing Vanya Enclave, another illegal colony in Sahnewal. Coloniser Darshal Lal of Sahnewal was also booked for developing an illegal colony in the name of Community Colony. The fifth case was registered against Saravjit Bhatia for developing an illegal colony in the name of Bhatia Colony.
