7 nabbed, drugs seized during CASO

A large police force, accompanied by senior police officials, led the operation under the ongoing campaign against drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Industrial Area-A, Inderjit Singh, ACP (East) Sumit Sood, SHOs of several police stations and in-charges of the police post conducted the operation in Ghora Colony, Ambedkar Colony, Chaunta, Bonkar Gujjran and other places. During the drive, the police arrested seven drug peddlers and recovered drugs from their possession.
The police arrested Akash Rai of Geeta Colony, Jalandhar Bypass, with 250 intoxicating tablets, Munish Kumar of Dhandari Kalan with foil paper used to consume drugs, Kamla Devi of Chaunta with 12 litres of illicit liquor, Raju Ram of Shandra village with 2.5 kg of poppy husk, Sikandar, alias Golu, of Nathu Bhaini, Teg Bahadur, alias Ghanti, of Koom Kalan and Sunny of Jassian road with foil papers and lighters used to consume drugs.
ACP Inderjit Singh said the suspects would be questioned to know about their links. The further investigation might give lead to the police about big drug smugglers and they would also be arrested.
