The Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) celebrated its annual convocation on Saturday, honouring the MBBS batch of 2019. The event marked a significant milestone as 80 MBBS degrees, 67 certificates and 16 medals were conferred upon institution’s outstanding graduates.

Balbir Singh, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research, Punjab, was the chief guest and Deepak John Bhatti, Chairperson, Dean, College Development, BFUHS, Faridkot, was the guest of honour.

In his welcome address, secretary, Bipin Gupta while praising the graduates for their dedication and resilience said: “Today’s conferring of degrees reflects not only academic excellence but also a deep commitment to compassion and service. These graduates will be the torchbearers of DMCH’s values in the healthcare world.”

Principal Dr GS Wander presented the annual college report, highlighting the institution’s strides in medical education, research and patient care.

President Sunil Kant Munjal said: “Technology may bring precision but no machine can replicate the empathy of a healer. True greatness lies not only in being skilled but in being good and doing good.”

Dr Balbir Singh, in his keynote address, congratulated the graduates and emphasised the importance of embracing challenges, using technology responsibly and promoting preventive care.

He said: “A sustainable future depends on our collective responsibility. By prioritising education and health, we empower society and build a healthier tomorrow.”

Graduates were seen embracing mentors, capturing memories with friends and reflecting on their transformative journey.
