The Ludhiana district administration is sponsoring international para-badminton player Shabana at the SPIRO SPATHIS Egypt Para Badminton International 2026 tournament, scheduled to be held from January 13 to 18, 2026.

While handing over the sponsorship and extending best wishes, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain lauded Shabana for her exceptional achievements on the global stage. He stated that Shabana had consistently brought laurels to the nation and had become a source of inspiration for countless young athletes, especially those from the para-sporting fraternity. He added that Shabana’s dedication, resilience and outstanding performances had made Ludhiana and the entire country immensely proud.

“We will continue to provide every possible support to ensure that talents like Shabana get a platform they truly deserve,” the DC said. He also expressed confidence that she would excel in Egypt.

Jain also directed the District Red Cross Society and Sports Department to extend all necessary assistance to Shabana.

Shabana also thanked the DC and the administration for their unwavering support.
