Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) celebrated the National Librarian’s Day to acknowledge the services of the library and information science professionals involved in knowledge organisation and its access which helps in bridging the knowledge gap of the society. The day is celebrated on August 12 every year across the country in remembrance of Father of Library Science, National Professor, Dr SR Ranganathan, who spearheaded the library development in India. His most notable contributions to the library field like five laws of library science and development of faceted classification system, the colon classification were talked about during the day.

University librarian Yogita Sharma talked about the importance of libraries and the diverse role of the librarians in the society. She motivated the library staff to work hard and help the users in fulfilling their information needs.
