Army, CMCH organise flood relief camp in Gurdaspur dist

A flood relief camp was organised by Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), Ludhiana, and the Panther Division of the Indian Army at Islampur village in Gurdaspur district. The initiative was undertaken under Indian Army’s operation Rahat.

People evacuated from 15 flood-affected villages were brought for medical aid at the CMC camp. The team from CMC was led by Director Dr Wiiliam Bhatti and comprised Dr Neil George, Dr Shone Chacko, Dr Sandeep Bonel, and Dr Bivin Sateesh, along with the paramedical staff of RHOP.

Nearly, 225 villagers were provided medicines. Dry ration and sanitary napkins during the camp.

Dr Bhatti and Dr Subhash Lazarus, an alumnus of the CMC, also visited Chauntra village on the Indo-Pak border by boat amid heavy rain, escorted by Indian Army, to provide medical aid and ration to villagers who could not come to the camp site.
