Security personnel deployed at Shaheedi Smarak, Malerkotla, to commemorate martyrdom of 66 Kukas on Friday have been advised to be courteous and vigilant.

Instructions in this regard were issued by Deputy Commissioner Pallavi and SSP Gagan Ajit Singh. The event would be chaired by Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian.

The DC said personnel performing duty had been advised to be extra courteous as a large number of guests from foreign countries would participate to pay tributes to 66 Kukas, who were martyred by

the Britishers.

Pallavi said special teams of senior government officials had been constituted and deployed for facilitating arrangements according to suggestions of organisers led by Samarak Committee chairman Surinder Singh.
