ASI dies by suicide at Ludhiana DIG residence

Tirth Singh, originally from Mullanpur Dakha, shot himself in the head with his service revolver around 3 am while on duty.
Police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation, taking custody of the body and sending it for a postmortem. The motive behind the suicide is still unclear and no suicide note was found.
Singh, who worked as a storekeeper, had been posted at the DIG office for about five years. He is survived by three children living in Canada, who have been informed about the incident.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Civil Lines Guriqbal Singh stated that the exact reason for Singh's suicide is yet to be ascertained.
