The State Education Department will hold a function for the best schools awards (2023-24 and 2024-25) on Friday in Chandigarh. The best middle, high and senior secondary schools would be awarded from each district. From Ludhiana, the schools that will be awarded include Government Middle School Chuharpur, Government High School Birmi and Government Senior Secondary School Maachiwara.

The middle and senior secondary schools are both located in the Maachiwara block, while the high school is in the Sidhwan

Bet block.

The senior secondary school will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, the high school will get Rs 7.5 lakh, and the middle school will get Rs 5 lakh.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
