On the sixth day of the filing nominations for the byelection to the Ludhiana West seat of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, six nomination papers have been filed.

Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEC) Sibin C said on Saturday that Jatinder Kumar Sharma, candidate from the National Lok Sewa Party, submitted his nomination papers. In addition, five Independent candidates Paramjit Singh Bharaj, Albert Dua, Kamal Pawar, Rajesh Sharma and Neetu have also filed their nominations.

He said a total of 14 nomination papers had been filed so far. Nomination papers could not be submitted on June 1 due to a holiday. June 2 was the last date for filing the same while the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be conducted on June 3.
