Notably, the temple committee members had given an ultimatum to the Khanna police to arrest the suspects by Sunday else they would again lay siege to the highway. The minister was accompanied by Khanna MLA Tarunpreet Singh Saund, Ludhiana DIG Dhanpreet Kaur and Khanna SSP Ashwini Gotyal.

The minister assured temple committee members and residents that both the Khanna and the state police were on the lookout for the suspects. Arora said the CM had said that such miscreants did not belong to any religion or community and ‘should not be considered human beings’. — TNS
