A total of 42 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the district today, taking the tally to 1,10,274.

The number of active cases rose to 161. Of this, 157 patients are in home isolation, while four are admitted to hospitals.

However, no fresh death due to the virus was reported from the district today. A total of 2,288 persons have lost their life to the virus since March 30, 2020, when the district witnessed first Covid-related death.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
