According to highly-placed sources in the department, about two dozen sleuths from Central GST raided the firm and took possession of the records from the firm. The raid was conducted following information about bogus billing and false claim of taxes. The raid created panic among industrialists in the city, especially those dealing in furnaces etc.

Furnace industry traders plan to hold a massive protest march on September 19 and 20 against the huge difference in tax of 18 and 5 per cent levied by the GST Department.
