The Vardhman Group expressed gratitude to the Government of India for its decision to allow duty-free import of cotton into the country till December 31.

SP Oswal, Chairman of Vardhman Group, said the move would provide immense relief to the Indian textile industry, which had been sailing through tough times due to global business uncertainties, triggered largely by geopolitical factors over the past couple of years.

He added that being export-oriented, the textile industry had faced challenges similar to other export-dependent sectors. "We assure the government that the industry will be make necessary sacrifices in view of the gruelling circumstances to protect national interests," Oswal said.
