One patient suffering from cholera has been detected in the district. The patient belongs to Valmiki Nagar in Mullanpur and is an eight-year-old kid. The patient was admitted to Raghunath Hospital. Cholera has been confirmed in the hanging drop test.

The Health Department has swing into action after the confirmation of the case and started survey in the area. People living in the area of the patient are being tested and awareness is being created.

According to the Health Department, no other person in the area has been found with symptoms of cholera. Chlorine tablets have been distributed in the area and four water samples collected from the area.
