City girls Jivan Lata, Gurleen Kaur, and Ujala made their mark in the weightlifting competition during the state-level Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, bringing home medals and accolades.

The competition was held in Sangrur, and Jivan Lata, a student of Gobindgarh Public College, Alour, clinched the gold medal in the below 81 kg category in the women’s 21-30 years group.

Gurleen Kaur, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Cemetery Road, Ludhiana, secured the silver medal in the girls U-21 group in the below 87 kg weight category.

Ujala, a student of Sanatan Dharam Kamla Lohtia College, Ludhiana, finished third in the below 59 kg category in the girls U-21 group.

The winners and their coach, Kamaljeet Singh, were called by DSO Kuldeep Chugh at his office in Guru Nanak Stadium to congratulate them on their achievement.
