City gymnasts showcased impressive performances, bagging several top positions across different age groups during the Ludhiana District Schools Gymnastics Championship held recently at AS Modern Senior Secondary School, Khanna.

The young athletes, all trained by senior coach Prem Singh at the multipurpose indoor hall opposite Guru Nanak Stadium, earned recognition for their stellar routines.

In the girls’ under-14 category, Kairaavi Sharma (DAV Public School, BRS Nagar) won the table vault and was adjudged overall third, while Akshika (Police DAV School) claimed first in uneven bar and secured the all-round second position. Palak Sharma (Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar) topped the beam event and ranked fifth overall.

In the under-19 section, Kyna Sood (KVM, Civil Lines) stood third in table vault and floor exercise, finishing fifth overall, while Simran (Government Senior Secondary School, PAU) and Hasita Sinha (KVM, Civil Lines) bagged multiple podium finishes.

Among the boys, Shrijal Tiwari (DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road) dominated the under-14 category, winning multiple events and securing the all-round first position. In under-17, Lavith Verma (DAV Public School, BRS Nagar) swept several events to emerge as the best gymnast.

In the under-19 section, Parth Sharma (GGN Public School) claimed six titles and was declared the best gymnast, followed by Chetan Rattan (Dyal Public School) and Aarav Shelly (BVM School).

All selected gymnasts will represent Ludhiana district in the forthcoming Punjab School Games, scheduled from October 13 to 16 at Gurdaspur.
