A complaint was registered at the Sadar police station on Tuesday on the basis of a complaint by a resident, who claimed to have received a threat call from a gangster.

Complainant Prince Pal, a resident of Dhandra Road, said he received a WhatsApp call from an unidentified who was posing as a close aide of a gangster and demanded extortion worth several crores from him. The complainant said the caller threatened to kill him if the money was not delivered. After the call, Pal said he registered a complaint at the police station. He revealed that that he had also submitted a recording of the threatening call to the police for investigation. Pal said the caller had demanded Rs 7 crore.
