Punar Pratap Singh Sidhu and Banipreet Singh from Ludhiana made their presence felt by securing medals at the Punjab State Shotgun Championship, held at New Moti Bagh Gun Club, Patiala.

Punar Pratap, a BTech CSR graduate from the local Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), showcased his mastery in the double trap event. With sheer consistency and precision, Punar clinched the gold medal in the senior men’s category and earned the prestigious title of ‘Punjab State Champion’.

Punar, having trained in shooting at a young age, has already proven his talent at state and zonal-level competitions. Looking ahead, he is determined to strengthen his performance in the upcoming national championship and aims to represent the country at international-level competitions.

Adding to the city’s pride, Banipreet Singh, also a BTech IT graduate from GNDEC, and a promising shooter, who started his journey in the sport only recently, impressed everyone by winning the bronze medal in the same category. His achievement was a remarkable feat as Banipreet, finished at the podium during his maiden championship. He is committed to refining his skills further and aspires to make a mark at the national-level competitions in the near future.
