Punjab Class IV Government Employees Union today protested against the SCD Government college authorities and sat on a dharna at the main gate. Employees rued that their salaries were ‘deliberately’ being released late by the authorities and it was becoming increasingly difficult for them to run their households.

“The college authorities know that we come from humble backgrounds and need wages on time. When they provide for their own salaries on time, why are they delaying ours? This comes across as a high-handed oppressive attitude towards the workers,” an employee alleged.

The other demands of employees include their cases be sent for regularisation as per seniority, those who are eligible should be recruited as lab assistants and provision of GPF statements.
