In a move against the illicit use of hookah and other related material, the Ludhiana Police conducted a raid on a prominent establishment known as Chaurasia Juice and Paan Bhandar in the Samrala Chowk area. The operation resulted in the arrest of a man identified as Sagar Chaurasia, who resides in the New Onkar Vihar locality.

The police recovered a substantial quantity of items associated with hookah consumption, including four hookahs, 35 packets of hookah flavours, indicating a diverse inventory catering to different preferences. The haul also comprised four boxes containing pre-rolled cones, four packets of tobacco, four packets of coal used to heat the hookah and two boxes of bio pipes.

Following the raid and recovery of the illegal items, the police registered a case against Sagar and launched an investigation to ascertain the extent of the illegal operations and to identify any other individual involved in this network.

The investigating officer said a police party was on a routine patrol in the area when they received a tip-off that Sagar was actively engaged in supplying illegal hookahs, coal etc from his shop.
