Cycle marathon to spread awareness on tax compliance

The Goods and Service Tax (GST), implemented on July 1, 2017 has significantly boosted the Indian economy by enhancing tax transparency and facilitating ease of doing business. The eighth anniversary of GST day will be celebrated on 1st July 2025 with the theme “GST: Simplifying Taxes; Empowering Citizens”.

With this regard, the Central GST Department organised a Cycle Marathon in coordination with the FIT INDIA Campaign at GST Bhawan, Ludhiana. The flag off ceremony was performed by Manoj Kumar, Additional Director General along with Satmanyu Sharma, Commissioner, Arun Chowdhary, Joint Commissioner, Wasim Mustafa Joint Commissioner, Radhe Tallo Joint Commissioner.

The objective of this marathon was to promote health, fitness and awareness about tax compliance among citizens. The cycle rally was covered around 5 km distance and 100 participants joined the cycle marathon.
