D Sports Arena Academy, Ludhiana, proved its supremacy by outplaying Sodhi Academy, Chandigarh, by 47 runs in the ongoing First Inter-Academies (U-18) Cricket Tournament being played at the Sodhi Cricket Academy ground, Golf Link on Hambran Road here on Monday. This was the second defeat in a row for the visitors as they had lost to GNSA Academy by 160 runs on Sunday.

Put into bat, D Sports Arena Academy, after a shaky start, were bowled out for a small total of 111 runs in 36.1 overs. Manaranvir top scored with 26 runs while Samyan Jain, Mridul Nanda and Hemant Verma contributed 21, 19 and 16 runs, respectively.

For Sodhi Academy, Khushraj Sehal was the most successful bowler, chipping in with four wickets while Skam, Leroy Sareen, Moulik and Sahibjot Singh captured one wicket each.

D Sports Arena Academy’s bowlers did a commendable job, restricting the visitors to a meagre score of 64 runs in 27.3 overs. Ayaan and Gaurav Kohli took three wickets each and Mankaranvir grabbed two wickets, while Deepak sent back one batsman.

Sachin Arora, a passionate educator and an avid cricket follower from Vidya Wings, was the chief guest today.
