Daily wager dies after scooter rams into tree
A daily wager of Chapra village in Ludhiana district was killed after the scooter he was driving rammed into a tree that had fallen on Issru Nasrali Road following a storm last night.
The deceased, identified as Angrej Singh, a daily wager was returning home from Khanna around midnight when he lost control over his scooter on seeing a fallen tree on the road. Though the exact sequence of events is yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigations revealed that he had fallen unconscious after his head hit the trunk of the tree. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Khanna, where doctors declared him dead.
Bikramjit Singh Bhangu, an official at the Issru police chowki said the police had completed inquest proceedings under Section 194 of the BNS on the statement of the deceased’s brother, Darshan Singh.
