The event features five committees — Lok Sabha, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, NITI Aayog, National Commission on the Status of Women and Press Information Bureau — engaging students in thought-provoking deliberations on issues such as India’s defence preparedness, Punjab’s agrarian resource crisis, women’s digital safety and strategic economic policy making.

Executive Board Members (EBs) from reputed colleges of Delhi guided and evaluated the proceedings with their valuable insights and experience, thereby enhancing the authenticity and learning experience of the simulation.

In his inspiring address, chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain emphasised the importance of discipline, consistency and self-belief for young learners. He motivated the delegates with his powerful words — “The pain of discipline is far less than the pain of regret,” “If you fail to follow the plan, you plan to follow failure,” and “Whether you believe you can or you cannot — you are right.” His words served as a beacon of encouragement for all aspiring leaders present.

Events like DAV Youth Parliament provide students with a meaningful platform to express their views, develop leadership qualities and gain insight into the democratic decision-making process. These not only nurture responsible citizens but also instill confidence and critical thinking skills, empowering youth to become aware, and socially conscious leaders of tomorrow, he added.
