Ludhiana, July 15

Ludhiana Municipal Corporation organised an awareness camp for prevention of diarrhoea and to promote cleanliness at the Government High School in Sarabha Nagar on Monday.

During the camp, the students were urged to keep their houses and surroundings clean. Further, they were also urged to ensure segregation of wet and dry waste in their respective households. The students were also asked to ensure that regular cleaning of coolers, flower pots, etc, to prevent water from accumulating as stagnant water becomes breeding ground for mosquitoes. The students vowed to shun the use of banned single-use plastic items.

Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Gurinder Singh and community facilitator Chanderjyoti said that the awareness camp was organised on the directions of MC Assistant Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon and more such camps would be organised in the coming days.

School authorities and staff appreciated the efforts being put in by the the civic body for spreading awareness among the students.
