Fine batting display by Divya Rajput (147) and Manya Verma (109*) helped Ludhiana script an easy 138-run win over Sangrur in the second league match of group D in the Punjab State Inter-District Women U-19 One Day Limited Overs Cricket Tournament. The match was played at Mansa on Sunday.

Batting first, after winning the toss, Ludhiana hoisted a challenging total of 285 runs for the loss of just two wickets. Divya scored 147 with the help of 14 boundaries and four sixes while Manya carried her bat at 109, which was studded with 10 hits over the fence.

Facing an uphill task, Sangrur women were off to a good start, losing their first wicket at 93 runs and the second wicket at the total of 120 runs. But they failed to capitalise upon the solid start. The highlight of their innings were some resilience batting by openers Nishita Bareja and Pari Sharma, who chipped in with 64 and 37 runs, respectively.

For Ludhiana, Moli Gosal captured three wickets and Samridhi Saini took two Parineeta Saroha and Mannat Dhir scalped one each. The third match will be played at Mansa on June 17.
