Doc dies as SUV turns turtle after hitting car on Ferozepur Road

In the accident, Dr Gagandeep Singh, who was driving Creta, died on the spot while five persons travelling in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Dr Gagandeep Singh, who was a resident of Jamalpur, was going to Jagraon for some work. On the way, his car collided with a bike, and then hit a Maruti Swift car coming from the front side. After hitting the car, the SUV turned turtle.
The collision was so severe that the SUV was badly damaged and the doctor suffered serious injuries on his head and face. Both rear tyres of Swift burst and its boot got stuck.
After the accident, passers-by pulled the injured out of the car and provided them help. All occupants of Swift were going from Fatehabad to Jalandhar to attend a function.
They had stopped in Ludhiana to have a break as it was too late on Friday night. On Saturday, they were returning to Fatehabad when the accident occurred. The vehicles were removed from the road with the help of a traffic tow van.
People present at the scene informed the traffic police. The police took the body of the deceased in their custody and later shifted it to the mortuary of the Civil Hospital.
Sarabha Nagar SHO inspector Madhu Bala said investigation was on in the case to inquire about the exact cause of the accident.
