The announcement was made by office-bearers and activists led by Jaspreet Sivian, Saurav Gautam, Baljinder Kumar and Neeraj Kumar during concluding session of the protest rally held in front of Satish Chander Dhawan Government College, Ludhiana, to burn copies of a letter purported to restrict their services up to February 17, 2026.
Claiming that the apex court had not issued any orders to authorise the government to take such action, speakers alleged that the arbitrary decision to curtail services and facilities of the protesting Assistant Professors and librarians was unconstitutional, inhumane and infringement of their fundamental rights.
