The purse of a foreign student studying at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, was stolen by some unidentified miscreants. The incident occurred when 27-year-old Niyunkepedia Feona from Liberia was shopping with her friend at Gurh Mandi here on Wednesday.

Feona reported the incident to the Kotwali police, stating that her bag’s zip was found open when she boarded a bus to Jalandhar. Upon checking, she found her purse missing, which contained her passport and Rs 2,800 in cash.

The police registered a case against unidentified thieves and started a probe into the matter. Even CCTV footage from the area were also being checked to get any clue about the miscreants.
