Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain inaugurated new diagnostic imaging equipment at Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana, on Wednesday. The upgraded radiology department will now house some of the most sophisticated imaging equipment, including advanced MRI 3.0 Tesla machine, offering superior imaging clarity; a 128 slices CT scanner for high-resolution scans; and a PET CT machine (which will be functional from next month). The introduction of a digital mammography facility will also enhance breast cancer screening capabilities, while digital x-ray Elenzar and digital fluoroscopy will provide high-definition imaging for a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Zonal director and SBU head Dr Vishavdeep Goyal, said, “With the upgrade, we have reinforced our commitment to providing world-class diagnostic services. Accurate and timely diagnosis is the cornerstone of effective medical treatment, and with these technological advancements, we aim to set new benchmarks in patient care. By incorporating cutting-edge imaging solutions, we will ensure faster detection, precise diagnosis, and improved treatment planning, ultimately enhancing health outcomes for our patients.”
