The Hathur police said they had arrested the kingpin of a gang of vehicle thieves which had been active in the region for a long time.

Four motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the main accused, identified as Sarabjit Singh Mann of Jhordan village, who was arrested by a team of cops supervised by Hathur police station SHO Kuljinder Singh Grewal.

SSP Dr Ankur Gupta said that the accused was identified and arrested during a campaign launched against antisocial elements under the supervision of Raikot DSP Harjinder Singh.

The police are trying to identify other accomplices of the nabbed accused and those who had been helping the accused in preparing fake documents for the stolen vehicles.
