Gagandeep Kaur of Bathinda stamped her supremacy to clinch top position in the high jump event in the girls U-19 section in the ongoing 69th Punjab State Inter-District School Games being organised by the Punjab Education Department at the Guru Nanak Stadium here on Sunday.

Princy Kumari of Ropar and Reena of Sangrur secured second and third position, respectively, while in the girls U-14 section (shot put), Manmeet Kaur of Muktsar came out triumphant, while Zeenat of Fazilka finished as runner-up and Sargun Kaur of Kapurthala won third position.

In the 1,500m race in the girls U-17 section, Amritsar’s Gurasis Kaur proved too good for her opponents and secured top position. Mehakdeep Kaur of Gurdaspur and Ananya Sharma of Hoshiarpur finished as first and second runners-up, respectively.

In the long jump event (girls U-17), Khushpreet Kaur of Patiala, Ishmeet Kaur of Bathinda and Ishmanjot Kaur of Ludhiana secured top three positions. In discus throw (girls U-19), Punia of Jalandhar emrged winner, followed by Palak Chauhan and Dikshita, both of Hoshiarpur, at second and third place, respectively.

In lawn tennis, in the girls U-17 category, Ludhiana bagged top position. Jalandhar secured second position while Mohali finished at third place. In the U-14 section, Mohali, Ludhiana and Jalandhar secured top three positions.
