Garment producers witness large orders

Ludhiana, August 12

The textile, garment and hosiery manufacturers are overjoyed as the three-day exhibition at PAU is receiving outstanding reception despite the rains yesterday. The exhibition, which will close tomorrow, has already attracted between 3,000-4,000 customers.

A manufacturer exhibitor from Ludhiana stated that the buyers had provided a response beyond expectations. He said, “While we cannot provide the exact number of orders, it is significantly higher than the past one-two years. The manufacturers are pleased and hope for a successful season. They will shortly begin manufacturing to fulfil these orders on schedule,” the manufacturer said.

Sanju Dhir, another producer of sweatshirts, bottoms and T-shirts, said that the response from buyers had been great across all garment categories. “Though they negotiate hard while placing orders, manufacturers don’t mind modest adjustments for these are large orders. Manufacturers have developed a wide range of materials, innovations and are providing the buyers with the latest of trends,” Dhir added.

The Ludhiana Readymade Garment Manufacturers Association (LRGMA) organised the three-day exhibition. Over 50 exhibitors are displaying their kids’, men’s and women’s wear products.
